electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS)
electronic devices used for the consumption of nicotine, more commonly known as electronic cigarettes (or e-cigarettes). ENDS contain nicotine but generally not tobacco. However, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, ENDS “meet the statutory definition of ‘tobacco products,’” subjecting them to regulation under U.S. laws governing tobacco products. ENDS are often marketed as smoking cessation aids, but no scientific research supports this claim, and ENDS are known to have many harmful risks themselves.
